To help develop your understanding of competencies you’ll find some samples below. We’ve picked out a diverse set of roles and for each you’ll see one competency. We then show a small number of the elements that help define that competency.

  • Prioritizes the each resident’s psychological wellbeing; managing difficult behaviours with compassion and empathy while trying to gain insight into the root cause
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of mental health issues and care, particularly dementia
